Somebody Must Associate with the Producers

I mentioned a while back that David Letterman was one of the executive producers of Ed

But he wasn't the only one. The other two unsung heroes are Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman, and I think it's time they had their moment in the spotlight as well.

I had a nice, geeky little moment when I found out that Rob Burnett graduated from Tufts University, just like Kenny.

I assume this Twitter user is the same Jon Beckerman, as he's following the likes of Ed alums Michael Ian Black, co-executive producer Mark Buckland, writer Kevin Etten, series legal consultant Jonathan Zittrain, and Donal Logue, who played the character of Phil in the pilot episode before being recast so he could appear on Grounded for Life. Oh, yeah, and also some guy named Rob Burnett. Weird.

These two have had other projects besides Ed, including a show called The Knights of Prosperity, which I vaguely remember, but did not remember included appearances by Mick Jagger.

Both men have sandwiches named after them at Rupert Jee's Hello Deli, which is often featured on The Late Show with David Letterman. I visited the deli on a 2006 trip to New York City, and took the awkward picture you see here.

And last, but not by any means least, here is a fantastic article about Rob Burnett, Jon Beckerman, Ed, David Letterman, Worldwide Pants, the whole shebang.

(If you're thoroughly confused by the post title, as well you should be, go watch the end credits of Sesame Street Presents Follow That Bird. Or just look toward the bottom of this page.)
